    Prachaup to Krabi

    Today I travelled from Prachaup Khiri Khan down to Krabi. I knew it was going to be a long journey but it turned out to be a longer day than I was expecting. The day started at 3 am when I was awoken by torrential rain. Normally these showers pass quickly but this escalated into a full on thunderstorm which lasted nearly 4 hours.     Prachaup Khiri Khan Day 2

    I woke up at 6 am to climb up to Wat Thammikaram Worawiham temple which is famous for the monkeys that have taken up residence there. It was also great to see the beach in the morning light. I wanted to miss the worst of the midday heat but even with an early start I was dripping with sweat by the time I reached the top of the temple. It was amazing to see all the monkeys on the way up and the views from the top were stunning.     Bangkok to Prachuap Khiri Khan

    Today I started my journey south towards the famous Thai islands. I decided to break the long trip up by stopping over at a couple of costal beach resorts. I woke up early to catch a 6h bus form Bangkok to Prachuap Khiri Khan. I booked the tickets online at 12go website and then headed to the bus station. The station was very busy with many local and long distance services. I was told my bus was going to depart from gate number 5.
